Poetry And Power

"Mannequin"
By Michael Knapp
it was all just a dream
but I'm still asleep
just a memory
that I couldn't keep
I'm forgetting all the words
and what to say
you do what you do
and I'll look away

it's just the anger I feel
when I look at you
detected, 'unreal'
a soulless mannequin

and it's danger you deal
no one has a clue
the lies you conceal
over and over again...

mannequin

your heart was so cold
though no one could tell
a smile just to show
it was painted well
solid to the core
but not of flesh and bone
you hide your deceit
with a heart of stone

it's just the anger I feel
when I look at you
detected, 'unreal'
a soulless mannequin

and it's danger you deal
no one has a clue
the lies you conceal
over and over again... mannequin

over and over again...mannequin
