Poetry And Power

"Machine Euphony"
By Michael Knapp

Over and over the sound of Machine
in my head like the Tick Tock Tick
the clock of forever in sync
with the heartbeat that's beating
a drumbeat that keeps repeating
Noise Noise that alter emotions
with feelings that scatter illusions
into dimensions of Machmen
which formulate wire intrusions
saturate faulty personalities
where Replicas trouble the template
disguising with natural distinction
abstracting the alien encounter
the U.D.'s feigned 'confidential'
accounting for all distractions
leaning without prior knowledge
all eyes consumed the silence
the Aircrash Bureau waiting
the phone line continued its warning
isolated a Slowcar to China
drifting like gas and Tubeway days
tension is mounting I confess
so sorry it had to end this way
