"The Unpardonable Sin"
(A Question of Faith, Part 2)
By Michael Knapp

I am your conscience
I'll tear you apart, boy
Why did you think I would leave?
I'm here forever
And don't you remember?
'I am the air that you breathe'
Just like the darkness
I hide in the shadows
Lurking about like the wind
Just a fair warning
If you are caught doubting
'The Lord won't forgive you of sin'

you said I
should do your will
you chose my son
as the one to kill

I am the darkness
and light eternal
of demons and angels am I
I am the vengeance
you can't run away, boy
for all that you've done, you will die

you are what
you've said you're not
I've dreamed this all
it's all I've got

Is this just a dream?
Is this just a dream?
Is this just a dream?
Is this just a dream?

I'll be the dagger, that cuts you deep
I'll be the dark images
that disturb your sleep

I'll be the spirit, clean and pure
I'll turn into the poison
and you'll beg for a cure

I'll be deception and blind your eyes
you'll never see the truth
you'll never realize

And if you mock me, I'll eat your soul
for this desecration,
I'll be out of control

you said I should do your will
you chose my son as the one to kill
you are what you've said you're not
I've dreamed this all, it's all I've got

Is this just a dream?
Is this just a dream?
Is this just a dream?
Is this just a dream?

This contradiction
and mass confusion
'not as I do; (but) as I say'
(This) sin, that I question
is just an illusion
eats out the heart of your faith
